Beginning in the 1700s with C.P.E. Bach’s brilliant Twelve Variations auf die Folie d’Espagne – a set of dramatic variations based on one of the oldest remembered European tunes; on to the 1830s, with Schumann’s Fantasie in C Major, Op. 17 – an unsurpassed piano masterpiece of the Romantic period, as well as one of his most original and personal compositions; continuing to the late 1800s with Nocturne No. 6 in D-flat Major, Op. 63 by Gabriel Fauré – known for his fondness of daring harmonic progressions and sudden modulations, supremely elegant with a deceptive air of simplicity; to our times, with Sonata Andina (2000) by Gabriela Lena Frank – mixing elements of the western classical and Andean folk music traditions.

Recently hailed as “positively mesmerizing at the piano” by The Times-Tribune, Ms. Choi has performed throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia as a recitalist, soloist, and chamber musician.  She taught piano at University of Indianapolis from 2010 to 2017; and is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Piano at Missouri State University.
