From the 1830s, with Schumann’s Fantasie in C Major, Op. 17—an unsurpassed piano masterpiece of the Romantic period, as well as one of his most original and personal compositions; to the early 1900s, with Nocturnes by Gabriel Fauré—known for his fondness of daring harmonic progressions and sudden modulations, pressing the limits of tonality, yet supremely elegant with a deceptive air of simplicity; to our times, with Nahyun Kim’s Hypochondriasis—a composition revealing her complex and unique modern idiom which combines set theory with engaging rhythmic profiles and romantic sensibility.

Recently hailed as “positively mesmerizing at the piano” by The Times-Tribune, Ms. Choi has performed throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia as a recitalist, soloist, and chamber musician.
