For over 38 years, proprietor Ron Winter has been tuning, regulating, voicing, servicing, and rebuilding pianos for local retailers, universities, music competitions, recording sessions, chamber orchestras, symphonies, and artists’ recitals; and has been the technician-of-choice for local Steinway concert and artist rental instruments. His clients include:
University of Indianapolis ♦ Butler University’s Jordan College of the Arts
The American Pianists Association ♦ The International Violin Competition of Indianapolis
Columbus Philharmonic ♦ Charley Creek Foundation ♦ Honeywell Center
York Hall at Anderson University ♦ Kalamazoo College ♦ Carmel Symphony
Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra ♦ Suzuki and Friends ♦ Basile Theater at The Indiana History Center
At the age of 18 Ron began learning the craft of piano service from his uncle, a well-established technician in Indianapolis. He took what he learned from his uncle, ran with it, and has been analyzing how and why pianos work ever since. His three sons, Seth, Timothy, and Jason, have grown up working alongside their dad on pianos. Ron is in high demand around the city as a concert technician, and is known to area artists and fellow piano technicians as a master of piano restoration, rebuilding, and troubleshooting! It is his passion to fully optimize every piano placed in his care; providing custom artist-level tuning, voicing, service, and regulation.
